The Frumious Wightblast Maneuver

Talk about Myth, other games and anything else (within the rules)

Frumius Wrote:Vr, what do you think about including my Frumious Wightblast article from MWC article section in your Mything.org article section?

Works for me - I would just have to decide whether to put it in the Strategy section (pissing off retentive 'regular' mythers) or the 'humor' section. Might also have to resize the images a bit too - 800px width might fubar the layout on lower resolution (< 1100px wide) monitors.

note: I don't mean the strategy vs humor comment as a slight against how effective a strategy it is, I can vouch for it's effectiveness as I've used it on occassion myself - just acknowledging that it might be a controversial "strategy". hmmm... then again I am the only one who reads the myth graveyard so I'll just put it wherever I want.

ps. Is it ok to 'hotlink' the images - as you have done here in the forum or would you like me to mirror them at the graveyard? no biggie either way just didn't want to hotlink without asking.

edited: It's in the graveyard. (link. )

Hey, hey, thanks, vr! :)

Ohhh...but I added a little to the article, see the Article At MWC06.com

About the images, hotlinking is no problem, but if they are hosted at your site then the links would never get broken; they'd be tied to the article as long as it exists on your site. Not that I think I'll break the links anytime soon, but if my site changes structure at all, then all the images on my site that I've linked to on forums and such will disappear from the posts.

Thanks again, it's an honor to have it among the articles at your site.

Ah, so YOU don't want to be responsible for your images - you want ME to be? ;) I know the pros and cons and was going to grab a copy of them anyways preparing for the day the images weren't available from your site. the only reason I asked about hotlinking is because I was being lazy.

np. i copied the page source directly from the mwc06 site link you gave, and dl'ed the images to my server. let me know if you see anything amiss.

pps. I filed the article as 'humor strategy' which you can see if you look at the topical list of articles or on the page itself.

Thanks, vr :)

I do see that 2 images aren't showing up (they're little question mark icons). One is the "Wabe Wightblast 2-29-00" (The animation beneath the first animation). The other image erroring is the one called "Convincing the Other Half," a small image of some Myth chat.

Now I've made you put in all kinds of unexpected extra work, sorry! :)

I'll probably not get to it till next week when I am back with a fast connection - feel free to remind me. I forget stuff I intend to do. Frequently. since i have a large BP to download via this feeble phone line tonight/tomorrow I won't be able to do much else net related till the dls are done.

heh. that's why I originally mirrored the images. much simpler. even with global find and replace to replace file paths something always breaks. prob I just forgot to upload a couple of the images.

I have no idea. The bogus thing, and it left me heavily disgruntled, is that they only put 10 of the 30 or so articles up for a vote! Neither of mine were up for a vote, a totally arbitrary decision. So the "vote" was only for one of the 10 that someone ordained would be the ones from which to choose. BS, I say! It doesn't at all say which article most people would have voted on if all the articles had been available for the vote.

I'd've voted for Ducky's movie, or, I have to say, for my Wightblast piece :)

Ducky's movie was up for a vote.

Well, that's all great and good for you, but who's gonna remind me to remind you!?

I have it all saved in rtf format too the way it appears at mwc06.com's editorials. Would that be useful?

Thanks but prob not - if it's just a couple of images not showing up I prob just didn't notice them in the folder of junk I downloaded them to when it I uploaded them.
