Incredibly great Myth Movie by Ducky!

There's a link to the film at the very end of the review Review of the MWC2006 QR™ - Teh Elephantoid that Ducky (Elephantoid) wrote.

Go to that review, either read it (it's humorous) or scroll down to the end and find the links.

Or here's the link: http://files.filefront.com/Game3Reviewm ... einfo.html . Click "Download Now."

It's 163 MB and 8 min of excellentness. I'm keeping a copy :) He did a truly amazing job complete with titles, soundtrack, synching action to soundtrack, and absolute hilarity and excellent editing (in iMovie).

If you wanted to comment on the movie where Ducky would see it, there's this thread in the MWC06 forum: ducky makes the best reviews ever.

That's VERY entertaining.

*** spoiler follows *************

I don't know if the long running situation so reminiscent of many a OoH game (1 unit running around trying to stay alive) and the 'hero's' incredible luck (and skill) at staying alive is what's so funny, or just how PISSED off the other team gets. Probably a combo, but man that was funny.

I almost laughed hardest when someone on the other team said "Wanker them" at the end of the game - talk about bad sportsmanship and poor winners. I mean that ghol HAD to stay alive for the blue team to win, right? I say it was a herculean effort and I wouldn't mind playing with the elephant crowd any day.

It could have been a slight exageration of their anger there VR :P

I thought it was great. Entertaining but personally not as funny as his written article.

Did you guys read anything else Ducky's written for MWCs? Its all solid gold. I'll list it here, I wouldn't mind having it all in one place for myself either. The MWC01 reviews lack images so can be alittle dull but I demand everyone check his MWC04 stuff.

LOL... that video is indeed funny. I thought the launching of the ball was an illegal move for a tourney (and ranked)... or am I wrong? Well assuming the ball gets stuck somewhere it can't be tagged by anyone.

I could see the blasting it out of bounds being illegal in tournament/ranked but for normal games it's all fair game. I think that *intentionally* putting the ball out of tagging reach is considered bad form - at least I consider it so. Of course putting the ball out of reach by all units except flying units and then making sure to wipe out other players' flying units is a commonly accepted and practiced strategy, at least amongst OoH.

Personally I would love to see a bacon tournament. mmmmm. bacon.

The weird thing was that we didn't even do that map/game this year. Was that just a film from a random game that he posted with his review, or what? I've been wondering about that. Oh! I missed a match. Mb it was then.

Watched the movie again tonight, this time with the sound - very entertaining either with or without!

lol - yeah, it was very obvious these folks don't play much Bacon - to them it just appeared to be prolonging the inevitable rather than staying alive. Was MUCH more fun/entertaining to have them keep that Ghol alive so long, especially with "the move" and having them blow up some of their own guys - was that much more in their face! At that point I really wanted that Ghol to stay alive!

I agree that intentionally blasting the ball out-of-bounds - especially on a map like Killing/Proving Grounds where it's easy to do so - is usually illegal in tournies and bad form in most circumstances, but didn't anyone know that the blue team had already won the game as soon as that happened (unless it was illegal)? You don't have to have any survivors to win Bacon, which is one of the reasons it's my (and many other OoH'ers) favorite game type. :D
