I'm sorry to announce that I've decided to close PlayMyth.net and FlyingFlip.com for the time being. I have just decided I no longer have the time or energy to deal with the endless cavalcade of drama and abuse that it entails and it's time for me to move on with my life. Should I continue my Myth related work at some point, I will bring things back on a different basis. I had wanted to re-do the site, but with life being the way it is I just don't have the time for it. I'm sorry and good night.

Or at least until we keel u. ;)

Yeah, had a feeling that was coming. I've felt the same problems with getting some last little updates out the door for plugins and some tweaks I want to do on the OoH site, so I can definitely relate when it comes to trying to manage something as big as the game server.

This was also precisely why we did the pre-emptive move to marius to be sure we all had accounts, etc.

Sorry to see PlayMyth go, but I can definitely understand.

Now I wonder how much of the bad element of PlayMyth will migrate to marius... Hmmmmm...

I say bring 'em. I want as many as possible. Tiger told me he was gonna bring his rank h00rs over! Heh. I've definitely seen the popularity climb completely dramatically over the last couple weeks. There are 35 on right now, 40 half an hour ago. The sea change aleady had occurred before today.

I haven't actually seen if I can log onto playmyth game server... Not sure I care. I'm curious, but mb one of you could check for me and let me know. Can't be bothered, m'self, y'know ;)

(J/k about someone else checking for me)

I agree actually. The more the merrier. One thing for sure, there's only one place to be now.

I notice a certain lifting of my Myth Spirit as it were - will be excellent motivation for working on my little OoH projects in the next couple of months. :)

Yeah, I was feeling the same way Frum - the past week+ there's been at least doubledigits of people playing on mariusnet, which is all you can ever count on from playmyth. I was going to say something about the 'convert everyone to mariusnet' project having reached critical mass but I didn't want to jinx things.

Glad all that crying in the wilderness about making the switch finally paid off. Looks like it was just in time.

But everyone is sitting in the tournament room...which I believe is invisible to guests. There was an afk player and an auto-host in the regular room and 43people in Shiver. So, to a guest..the server is barren. People need to migrate over to a regular room, or make Tourney rooms available to guests [we don't even have tournaments or a need for *Real* tournament rooms anymore ]

You should post this on the mariusnet forums and remind PPE.

I didn't realize the Tourney rooms were invisible to guests so it's likely a lot of other people don't know either. PPE might be able to change the setting relatively easily, who knows.

MNA Lemming Wrote:well, there IS a valid need for Tourney rooms.

Tourney rooms are a cross between Ranked and Unranked.
All stats are recorded for ALL games in Tourney rooms, even Co-Ops.... even 1v1 fights (yes, you can do 1v1 ranked matches here).

So, it may not help guests any, but there is a need for it. They can also view the website here and see that there are constantly a bunch of people on the server, who they are, what they are playing, etc....

Secondly, there is no real reason at all to be on as a Guest unless you only have the Demo (even then they might be able to log in.. not sure on that one). Accounts are free and we don't discriminate against free email accounts... there really aren't any legitimate barriers to logging in with a real account.

Rank is such a divisive issue.
