Baak, do you still have the original stoneheart plug that I can get from you or gimpmasks contact info? I would like to play it and can't seem to get it anywhere. By the way the new RDF one is pretty fun also.

Hi, neo. I didn't want you to feel all lonely waiting in the dark all by yourself for a reply. Baak went out of town the very day you posted or so. Not sure if he'll check the boards while he's gone, but I bet he'll find a way!

Btw, I think I have it, and if anyone here can give feedback (vr, mb?) as to whether it's ok to spread it around, I'd give it to you. Thing is, I don't seem to have the readme that prolly came with it. I might have it somewhere around here.... I used to play Stoneheart Return with Gimpmask back in the day. Haven't heard from him in years, tho. He taught (graphics, I think) at some college/university in Florida.

Baak has been in contact with GimpMask during the development of the RDF stoneheart but I don't have access to that info.

here's the "original" readme from gimpmask's StoneHeart Returns. I just skimmed but didn't see any restrictions on distribution so I iof there aren't any I would say sending a copy to someone wouldn't be a problem.

Glad to hear of your interest in the SH maps, neo. :)

GimpMask was very enthusiastic both that we played the original map so much and that I wanted to build on the original in a new direction. I haven't chatted with him for a year or so now but will drop him a line again this Summer to say "Hi".

The "StoneHeart RDF" map is now quite different from "Return to StoneHeart". As the rest of the OoH can attest, it changed somewhat each new version and there were more internal versions than any other map/plugin we have - perhaps more than any other plugin in the Universe. ;) I think it was 53 (!) versions or something! I kept learning more about mapmaking every time I played with it and wanted to add something new every time I was "done". As VR would agree, the word "done" or "final version" has a HUGE asterix on it that says: "* - subject to change".

I recall a particular favorite on the original map consisting of Target Dummies as Assassin targets that are inside the SH. Very fun. That game along with the Raid Assassin game inspired the simple plugin I made recently to turn Barons into Target Dummies. Now you can play the Target Dummy Assassin game all over the place. It plays like a hybrid of CtF and Assassin due to the fact that the targets are stationary.

It'd be interesting to play a few games on the original SH map and see how different things are now. Also as mentioned, there was a map before Return to StoneHeart called just StoneHeart. I think the Return map is better (I believe GimpMask preferred it as well). I have never played or even looked at the original. I downloaded the original from The Mill and the Return map showed up before I ever looked at the original.
