new Myth tournament

For OoHers who don't frequent the myth news sites, thought some might want to know that there's a new tournament in town, looks to be a longish one. A little simpler than most with games being decided by who wins instead of arcane scoring systems. Interesting that teams get to pick 2 'home' maps/game-types of their own choosing to add into the mix. More info below...

What kind of tournament is Proelium?
Proelium is a Myth2 vTFL team tournament that features both 2-team (1v1 style) games and games with four teams (2x2 allies). Although the official month for a Myth2 anniversary wouldn't be until November, we thought it would be a good prelude to the Myth World Cup and other possible events to come later this year.
How will this tournament be scored?
Regular season and playoff matches are a best-of-three and best-of-five series of games. The finals will be a best-of-seven games contest between the two finalists.
The standings for the regular season will be determined by an easy-to-understand points system. At the end of the regular season, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs.
Winning a game is winning a game, no special points system will be used except in certain games (like CTF).
How will this tournament be setup?
We are going to keep the initial limit for team registrations at 18. If we know of enough teams interested in playing, we will open up the limit to 20+. Regardless of how many teams are registered, they will be split up into two groups. A schedule will be posted for each team, and teams will be playing 2 matches a week during the regular season.
