Celestial calculator from 2nd Century BC!

The device, which was an astronomical calculator, dates from the 2nd Century BC and was amazingly accurate. In fact, the article says, we know of no more complex device developed for the next 1000 years!

Interesting (for me anyway) to imagine how things would have evolved without the intervening Dark Ages, etc.

How many parallel worlds are there that went how many ways...

Would be neat to check 'em out via some sort of Holodeck. :)

That's actually my favorite TOS Star Trek episode. I have yet to see the uncut version where Kirk's "assistant" says, "Just oiling my traps.".
