Join dates?

I checked the memberlist here (the URL still works even if there's no link on the forum page) and it says Baak joined in November 2004 when I did? How come he's not the longest standing member...isn't this site run by him so he shoulda got an account automatically when he set up the forums?

I didn't realize that list would show just by typing in the URL (ugh), so I have now removed it - thanks for the head's up, Elfoid!

But I'm not sure what you're talking about... :) It shows my join date as 11-Nov-2004 and yours as 22-Dec-2004. I'm listed as first and you are eighth.

It's not an OøH member list, it's the forum list. The forum is much newer than OøH the order.

Aye - forgot to mention that as well - thanks, Frum!

The OoH was formed 13-Aug-2000 - someday perhaps I'll make up a quick "joined date" list. :)

I think Elfoid was referring to the forums only, but one never knows... ;)

I think he was either

a) misinterpreting the meaning of the dates (e.g. frum's theory that he was confusing the date of joining the relatively new forum with the date of joining Ooh) which is also what I thought when I read it even though on reflection it makes no sense, since Elf isn't a member of OoH why would he think the 'join' date had anything to do with order membership or anything other than the forum?

or

b) just wondering if he happened to join the forum here on the first day it was in existence.

Have a feeling it was b).

I officially opened the forums: 2004/11/11 11:11:11am MST for all you trivia buffs out there. ;)

I was wondering about the forums and when people joined them, not OoHitself. I just saw someone who joined the OoH forums before Baak (or so I thought) and I wondered why/how that happened.

Why's it so hidden anyway Baak? Not like anyone other than me is ever gonna check it :P

I checked - no one earlier than me. Perhaps that was a MM/DD vs. DD/MM thing (i.e. European vs. American date format)?

Well, I realized that that page exposes everyone's email address and could be easily screen-scraped by a spam bot (and probably already has been).

I notice I'm getting a lot more spam lately ( ) and this could be one contributor (as the spam bot registrations increased they could have been scraping that page).

I'm going to put a Mod of some kind up to hide the email addy's and then repost it.

It's *very* lame that they don't have some kind of security on this already since I turned off showing usergroups it shouldn't show that page... Grrrr...

Its in people's preferences if they want their e-mail public, but good point.

Of course for the _real_ trivia buff, the FIRST OoH related forum was not this one.
