Maybe it's just me, but I think these people should be playing Myth instead... :saywhat:

*** SPOILERS ***

What I want to know is how throwing a dead 'fish' at people standing on flowerpots could be construed as 'inappropriate'? I mean 'weird', 'really bizarre', 'Too monty-pythonish to happen in real life" sure, but "inappropriate"?

more about conger cuddling. <-- that last one is my favorite because of the obvious bias from a magazing called 'Practical Fishkeeping'. Though one has to wonder what 'practical' has to do with this bizarre tradition.

I didn't realize that the complaint of 'inappropriateness' had just happened.

I think instead of a plastic eel they should make some kind of rubber/plastic one that is strong enough to be used many times and that weighs the same (20 lbs) and is the same length. Why not?

I can see where the complaint about a dead fish might be seen as overblown, especially when someone mentioned how every day tons of dead fish are thrown back into the sea because they are too small to be sold under EU laws (don't see how the oceans can stand us for too much longer, really). It's also unfortunate since they were raising money for a good cause (a life boat fund). But I can also understand the underlying anger behind the complaint regarding trivializing the destruction of life in the sea, which I think is a much bigger problem than we realize. I mean - does anyone really think the oceans will be putting up with our current behavior through the next 100 or even 50 years? It may be more like 25 - the same amount of time since Video Killed the Radio Star aired.

That said, it seems like replacing the carcass with a rubber/plastic replica might just bring us all a little further into the 21st century. ;)

Well MT, at least that would be a good demonstration of what "inappropriate" REALLY is.

I had this non-anatomical image of you sticking your butt in someone's car window and leaving the inside of the car looking like a brown version of that white car Travolta had that accident in in Pulp Fiction.

Needless to say, I laughed.

LOL - yeah, MT - think I'd much rather spend a week locked in a cupboard with that dead eel, than face the wrath of your Taco Bell purge...
