yeah but they do the days/months differently in Europe and other parts of the world, so to most of the world it's really just 06/06/06.

IT'S 666 DAY! Aiiiee!!

ps. most (?) biblical scholars know that the oldest texts list the number as 616, not 666 - and either are generally interpreted to refer to one of the roman emperors of the 1st century AD.

lol vr - I like: 668: Number of the Beast's Neighbor! They mentioned 616 being the number in earlier texts and how it most likely referred to one of the Caesar's in that BBC article - first time I'd heard that - typical how things "evolve" over long stretches of time into something else (usually more "mysterious")...


Believe it or not we've traveled Route 666 many times! Any road trip that takes us through Flagstaff, Arizona, takes us that way. Alas, after many improvements (it was notoriously dangerous) they re-designated it U.S. Highway 491.

Funny, I always wondered how it got to be 666 in the first place. Fairly simple explanation: it was the sixth spur off of Route 66. The reason it looked odd for so long was because Route 66 is only "Historical Route 66" now and thus Route 666 stood out like a sore thumb - an odd little stretch of highway in the middle of nowhere with a funky name.
