Ancient GOTW snapshot wins contest! Whooo-hoo! :D

Talk about Myth, other games and anything else (within the rules)

Sounds like you need to organize said contest yourself. Best way. :)

I know i come off sounding very anal-retentive but what the hell do you mean by "branching beyond a LITERAL screenshot"? A screenshot is a picture of a screen, e.g. a SCREEN snapSHOT - that's why it's called what it is.

Now if you really meant you wanted a conceptual/fake/simulated screenshot competition (e.g. "create some kind of myth related artwork that looks like a screenshot") that's all well and good, but that's NOT remotely what you started off saying, and is not what any reasonably sane person would expect when you say the word 'screenshot'.

To recap and paraphrase your evolving point of view on the screenshot competition:

"The screenshot contest kind of sucked"

"The screenshot contest would have been better if it had been open to commonly (universally) used 3rd party maps and plugins"

"The screenshot contest shouldn't have really been a screenshot contest at all, it really should have been a free-form myth art contest to create fake screenshots".

What you are saying here reinforces my opinion that I said in my last post - that the reason you didn't like the contest wasn't because there was something done wrong, or because there was something that you think could have been done better, you just didn't like the basic premise of the competition - you think a completely different kind of art competition would be more fun and you just don't like the idea of a 'literal' screenshot contest at all.

Precisely why I think Elfoid should create his own contest. :)

Well there's a difference between what Idiots did since it used mostly Myth 'architecture' and some playing with the in game camera was done. I think doing something that manipulates the game is cool but HOW manipulated is something that would be so hard to pick out.

I'm fighting a battle where I don't even know what my argument is or my main point, I should shut up and admit failure....in whatever I'm arguing over.

No need to feel like you are fighting a battle, I just thought I was hearing in your initial criticisms and comments about the screenshot contest something that didn't quite make sense. Now that we have talked about it a bit and you have explained yourself a bit more we have realized that a big part of why you didn't like the screenshot contest is because you would prefer a completely different kind of contest - one that isn't really a screenshot contest at all.

No argument. No battle.

Nothing to see here. Everyone move along.

Thanks, TS, that was a great idea!

I just made a little contest myself and won!

Anyone can do it, send $$ for full program.
