I don't think I've *fallen* into the abyss. Although this forum is public it's a much quieter place than the MWC forums so until gc discovers this thread it's not contributing to the problem.

AND if the problem IS that we take him seriously, I don't think there's too much danger of that. In the myth world at least there's not too much that OoH takes very seriously.

Well we could always have Baak move the thread if any real wankers show up. Although I doubt we would have to ask, the terms of use of the ooh forums are such that any genuine aholes would have a hard time adhering to the rules for more than a post of two.

The community exists because of the game but a lot of people only play because of the company they enjoy now - the game lost any real fresh appeal its just the joy of carnage WITH FRIENDS and mild friendly competitivism.

I understood what you said Elf, I was just opining (for the fiords) that I didn't see how you could agree that everything about gc was right when all the points being made were based on what to me was a competely bogus (and ridiculous) inaccurate comparison. To ME the whole argument about gc and his nature/role was based on the comparisons/similarities to Socrates. But then again, I am not much of a classical philospher (I prefer punk philosophy) and I only skimmed the article.

Yeah he isn't part of the community but he's not as much of a drain as someone like shinco or Myrk who pick on me to obsessive compulsive levels.

Elf, you do have a unique and valid perspective as someone who really IS singled out and picked on by some (many) (but fewer now, it seems?). So I can see how Myrk or Shinco would seem worse to you. But they are only worse to YOU, plus random other annoyances they utter. But on the whole, their crap, being more focused, is less disruptive to the whole community in general than gc's crap. Gc's attitude is a more pervasive cancer which attempts to embroil the Entire community in negativism, with self-aggrandizement as a major ghol [sic].

I like TB. I've probably known him for 7 years. He used to hang out with my tfb (The Fallen Bishops) crowd on our HL server back in the b.net days. I have a photo of him from back then with 3 young Asian women (all clothed, geeze!) that he shared. He shared the photo, that is, not the women (geeze!). I think he was in Imperium in the beginning, too, but had some disagreement with someone and left in a huff (that last part might not be correct). Anyway, I didn't read that article you linked to, so what do I know, but vr and Sgt Rogers sure make some good points about GC being ANYTHING OTHER THAN SOCRATES. How about Hitler?
