Interesting articles... the bee issue has definately been talked about here in California. I suddenly feel like playing a couple Beatle songs:

Fixing a Hole
Let it Bee

Odd stories - the first one made me think there was a spot on the planet where you could look through and see the molten core... even with my extreme lack of all kinds of scientificationality, I knew that couldn't be right.

Good song choices... not just technically accurate, but topically meaningful too.

ps. I hope the Bees aren't being abducted by aliens or anything serious. (I just don't buy the "they got disoriented" argument, if you wanted to posit they were migrating south, seduced by killer bees and the promise of an easy life spent pollinating tequila flowers and lounging around on the beach sipping nectar margaritas I could believe that)

pps. How about a theme song for the Bees that have dissapeared? I am thinking "I'm a bee leaver".

The Africanized bees are killing them all off.
I hate these annoying Africanized bees. Kill them, they come back...again..and again...and again..

I thought the Africanized bees took over the hives when they came into an area?

I think this vanishing act is something other than the Africanized bees, only because I think they would have mentioned that (it's been a "threat" for quite a while).

No, it's not the Africanized Bees that do that, I think you must be thinking of the Zombees.

Speaking of ex... Do you think you'll be able to join us for a few tomorrow night?

Been getting lots of comments on how things just aren't the same without those bright green body part strewn on the battlefield. :)
