StoneHeart RDF Readme

Here's the StoneHeart RDF Readme - let me know what you think.

I'm planning on putting this version (v2.1g - with fixes from v2.0g) on the OoH Downloads page along with Triskelion v1.0g this week. I did a couple of cosmetic tweaks to the Triskelion Readme as well.

I'm going to post the SHRDF Readme on the Magma forums for feedback too.

Warning: I am being really picky feel free to ignore, throw things at the screen, curse me, whatever.

1) Probably not necessary since anyone playing Myth has been playing for a while, but a newbie reading this text...

NOTICE: This plugin requires Project Magma's Patch 1.6 Build 290 or greater. Using earlier patches may cause OOS's or crashes to occur.

...might not know
a) that a 'patch' is actually a version of Myth
b) that 'Patch 1.6 Build 290' is a different (newer) version of myth than the original one they purchased or have on their HD
c) where to download the patch from
d) what OOS means

Not that you need to, but if you wanted to you could make the text a more explanatory by changing it slightly to something like :

NOTICE: This plugin requires Myth II Version 1.6 (Build 290) or greater. Using earlier versions may cause 'Out of Sync' errors or crashes to occur. The most recent version of Myth II should be available for download at http://projectmagma.net or http://tain.totalcodex.net.

or of course you could leave out the urls and just mention projectmagma and the tain.

2) There's one line of (at least to me on my windows monitor) really teeny text - though it could be my high res settings. -- note: this is the actual size doing the print-screen windows screen capture - I didn't resize the image.

Image

3) I am not that good with punctuation so am unsure what to suggest, but the sentence "The Assassin game makes all your Dorfs targets and having reinforcements adds a twist" seems to need some punctuation - I had to read it a couple of times, finally pausing after 'targets' then I (think I) understood what you were saying.

4) In the special thanks section in the first credit the word 'modify' is mispelled 'modfiy'.

just my 2 cents.

Good stuff - thanks for the excellent feedback! :)

The "Patch 1.6 ..." text is actually an URL, but it's probably not obvious. I need to add underlines to the URL's in these docs.

The teeny text was another case of %'s trapped inside of %'s - should be better now. Also made BoF a general link to the OoH Downloads page.

Check it out now and see if it all looks a little better. Cleaned up the text/punctuation in that one area as well (still not 100% happy with it but must take a break).

Thanks again for the feedback! :)

Ah, I should have known. You are correct - at least it's linkness was not obvious to me.

And I'll modify "modify" and that other sentence. Was getting late/tired. ;)

I thought the teeny text was probably the same root as the one on the triskelion map readme page. 67% of 75% sized text or the like.

Also, I probably should have noted that the page looks really good - easy to read, well laid out, ungarish use of color to emphasize things you wanted to emphasize, etc.

nice woik.
