Why the server was down.

Why the server was down.

Don't want to do too much cross-forum posting, and most probably saw the note but thought this might have some resonance here because of Q and H's occupation.

Playmyth has a thread about the game server being down last weekend and the reason was because they were changing the message of the day in honor of a Myth player and firefighter who recently died. http://playmyth.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=5438&highlight=

Yeah, was sad to read that.

For me personally, firefighters are in that upper eschelon of respectability. Not only is it a tough job and incredibly dangerous, but I think it takes a certain type of person to do it. Paramedics too.

Didn't know him or ever play Myth with him, but it sounds like he was a good guy and will be missed.

I find in funny that the server goes down when you change the MOTD. And they changed it.........without anyone to start the server again. It didn't go up until Blades woke up that morning.

As far as the person...I think he was one of the few WWII rankers that I can't remember yelling at someone and calling them a noob. Not to say he didn't, but usually WWII rankers say it so much I can remember. Other than that, I know nothing.

These days I find the WWII community far nicer than the reg one. Less soul and spirit to them tho.

The reg community definitely is worse. Instead of shoving you hypothetically, they throw you on the ground, kick you, and cut off your arms.

But the WWII community...there's something about it that's just pathetic. They're so concerned with creating all new l33t orders and crap.
