What do you think ?

Talk about Myth, other games and anything else (within the rules)

It's definitely an art - and a frustrating one at that!

There are so many layers of stuff involved that it's quite mind-boggling if taken in all at once. The tutorials help a lot though, as they lay things out in steps. 99% of the grief I've encountered is eventually overcome through experience - it's just a bit of a learning curve. ;)

There are so many things that I know now that help simplify the entire process, but some of it is still just plain frustrating as Hell...

You should dig out that map project sometime MT - pass it by those of us into mapmaking and maybe we can help you get over the really rough parts! :)

One of the most frustrating parts about map making is repetition. You have to add those 8unit types to ALLLLLL freaking 2-16 teams. You can't just use a script to have it create one for each team.

You sit there and fine tune your media as media maps from PS will never be exact. Triangle by triangle, option/alt clicking to perfection.

COlourmaps ? Argh...blending textures. Sit there for hours trying to take the razor edge off of something and blend it well into the rest. And then you have to do that with the rocks, the water, the ....sheesh.

It's about being patient [and having l33t skills like ozone ]

Go ahead and try it. My thrall are sharpening their teeth special for you. I may be out a few thrall, but your trow will be missing a few toes. Nothing more embarrassing in the summer than a trow's friends ribbing him at the beach about the toes that got nibbled off by trow. Seriously, Trow can be unmerciful in their taunting.
